DESCRIPTION:Emerging Research and New Directions\nAn Online Mini-Conference \nSaturday\, 13 June 2026\n2:00–5:00 p.m. BST\nOnline \nThe Early Career Committee of the Centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies International\n(CNCSI) is delighted to invite you to Nineteenth-Century Advances: Emerging Research and\nNew Directions\, an online mini-conference bringing together scholars working across disciplines\nto consider new approaches to the long nineteenth century and its continuing relevance today. \nThe event will open with a keynote address by Dr Sebastian Egholm Lund\, Junior Research\nFellow at Linacre College\, University of Oxford\, and recipient of the inaugural 2024 INCSA\nEmerging Scholars Award. \nThe keynote will be followed by a series of flash talks showcasing emerging research across the\nfield. The conference will conclude with a roundtable: \nArtificial Intelligence and Nineteenth-Century Studies\nPossibilities\, Questions\, and New Directions \nThe roundtable will consider the emerging role of artificial intelligence in nineteenth-century\nstudies\, including the possibilities it may offer for research and teaching\, the methodological and\nethical questions it raises\, and the ways in which it may reshape scholarly practice in the years\nahead. \nAttendance is free\, but registration is required.
