Kickoff Meeting: Global Modernities

This seminar serves as the kickoff meeting of our five-year project Global Modernities: Narrative Patterns and Cultural Circulation in the Nineteenth Century, organized within the framework of CNCSI and the CNCSI-Japan Hub.
The project explores how modern experience has been produced, mediated, and communicated through texts, images, and embodied practices, drawing on recent interdisciplinary and comparative approaches in the humanities.
This online seminar is intended as an open academic discussion space for exchanging methodological perspectives and developing future directions for collaborative research. In this one-hour session, the two moderators will offer brief introductory remarks and invite participants into a broader conversation on possible concepts, approaches, and research trajectories.
