An Online Mini-Conference

2:00–5:00 p.m. BST
Online

The Early Career Committee of the Centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies International
(CNCSI) is delighted to invite you to Nineteenth-Century Advances: Emerging Research and
New Directions, an online mini-conference bringing together scholars working across disciplines
to consider new approaches to the long nineteenth century and its continuing relevance today.

The event will open with a keynote address by Dr Sebastian Egholm Lund, Junior Research
Fellow at Linacre College, University of Oxford, and recipient of the inaugural 2024 INCSA
Emerging Scholars Award.

The keynote will be followed by a series of flash talks showcasing emerging research across the
field. The conference will conclude with a roundtable:

Artificial Intelligence and Nineteenth-Century Studies
Possibilities, Questions, and New Directions

The roundtable will consider the emerging role of artificial intelligence in nineteenth-century
studies, including the possibilities it may offer for research and teaching, the methodological and
ethical questions it raises, and the ways in which it may reshape scholarly practice in the years
ahead.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Registered participants will receive the online
meeting link and final program by email in advance of the event.

Register here.

The detailed program, including the flash-talk speakers and roundtable participants, will be
announced shortly.
